Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality among women worldwide, yet significant differences in disease presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes continue to exist compared with men. Hormonal influences, pregnancy-related complications, autoimmune disorders, menopause, and sex-specific risk factors contribute to the unique cardiovascular profile observed in women. Despite increasing awareness, cardiovascular disease in women is frequently underdiagnosed or diagnosed later, emphasizing the need for improved education, early risk assessment, and gender-specific preventive strategies. Advances in cardiovascular research are expanding our understanding of sex-related differences in disease mechanisms, clinical presentation, and therapeutic responses.
